Will be checking email daily and returning to D.C. Wednesday. Joe has contacted the producer and will give the developer's perspective. My only concern about Jim's new effort is that I don't want him to start trying to get the Post or other local papers to do articles about the Tivoli's history. To preempt this Joe and I are developing a strategy to pitch a story from about the developer's perspective. Have a great weekend. Haven't gotten to the Blackjack table yet."

4/09 Robinson "Councilmember Graham has gotten Andy Altman's office to propose a $2 million preservation funds for the Tivoli in the 20001 budget. It the funding is not in concert with Tivoli Partner's development plans they will testify in opposition"
4/12 Robinson "We want to convey that Tivoli Partners is concerned about preservation in the planning of the retail center. The media advisory is designed to soften the Historic Preservation Review Board (HPRB) and to impress upon the HPRB that highly respected preservationists agree that the Tivoli is in a decrepit state with much of its historic fabric gone and that it would need to be entirely rebuilt. We want the HPRB to understand that the plan that Tivoli Partners will unveil is the only reasonable plan."

5/09 Moore "I have been out of town, was the ERA executed?"
5/10 Robinson "Bob, Unfortunately, the Control Board added unacceptable language to the ERA and it has yet to be executed. We are talking with Steve Lyons, Frances Smith, Eric Price and Bob Walker to get the language changed. Sharon"
5/11 Robinson "I spoke with Frances Smith, executive director of the the Financial Authority, this morning and indicated that the 12 month period for the transfer of the property rights was not tenable. He said that he said that he had received a call from Bob Walker of the Redevelopment Land Agency, and that Bob had expressed the same sentiment. Frenchie said that the the Board put the 12 month provision in because they don't like the ERA process and they are tired of the process taking so long. He said that the history of previous ERA's is that they don't result in a timely development of the land. I said that Tivoli Partners should not be penalized because of the Board's displeasure with previous ERA's. He agreed and said that he told Bob that we needed to provide the Board with a detailed explanation of why we need more time and that they will take it under consideration."
