EXCLUSIVE: Filming HBO’s five-part Watergate Limited series The plumbers of the White House with Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux, was suspended this week over incidents on the set that sparked an investigation.
“HBO has received reports of alleged unprofessional behavior on the set of” Plumber in the White House“Said the network in a statement on Deadline. “We take our responsibility for a respectful work environment in all of our productions very seriously and are fully investigating the matter.”
The network does not comment further. According to sources, there was an on-set altercation on Wednesday, August 4th that involved series director / executive producer David Mandel and a member of the props department. The incident is believed to be the focus of the investigation, although I heard that there may have been a second altercation on Thursday, August 5th, which resulted in the show’s props department stopping in protest. I heard that the production stop was revealed (for no reason) in a call log sent out Thursday night. The document included a note of contacts for anyone who could report bullying on the set, according to sources, who indicated that this week’s incidents may not have been isolated.
‘Irma Vep’: Byron Bowers & Tom Sturridge participate in HBO’s TV adaptation of Olivier Assayas’ feature film
I heard that production has currently been suspended for today, Friday, August 6th. It is still unclear when she will resume as HBO is investigating. The series is believed to be roughly in the middle of filming in New York State.
The development comes amid a new surge in Covid fueled by the highly contagious Delta Tribe, which has put additional pressure on productions to protect sets from outbreaks, causing added stress and sometimes tension.
