Thousands of people were without power on Sunday and at least one person had to be rescued on a flooded street as storms battered the DC area. Several weather warnings were in effect for most of the afternoon and evening.
A flood warning is also in effect for DC, Montgomery and Prince George counties in Maryland, and Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church in Virginia until 1:15 a.m. Monday. Be vigilant in flood prone areas and remember: never drive onto a flooded road.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., a line of severe weather was moving along Interstate 95 toward the Chesapeake Bay. Another westbound line also brought powerful storms to the region, said Doug Kammerer, Storm Team4’s chief meteorologist.
Sunday was another hot and muggy day with temperatures expected to reach the 90s.
According to Storm Team4, a passing cold front is the cause of the storms.
