At the reception of the group, Ambassador Bashir said: “On behalf of myself and the embassy as a whole, I thank you all sincerely and appreciate your solidarity visit and special concern, especially in these difficult times in our national discourse.

“We are very much aware of the unjustified and politically motivated unrest, uncertainty and economic downturn as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic that is afflicting our country.

“Therefore, your visit to identify with us in the midst of this tremendous problem will make a great contribution to strengthening the unity and progress of our beloved country.

“So I have to say that there is no better time than now when we celebrate our“ national holiday ”. We are therefore very honored and are pleased to recognize your remarkable and selfless action for the further development of Nigeria.

“I would also like to assure you that this will be recorded in the phase of our national development and transmitted to the authorities in Abuja.”
