March for Our Lives protest planned for June 2022 in Washington DC – NBC4 Washington

Another March for Our Lives demonstration comes to Washington, DC, after a mass shooting at a Texas elementary school.

Protests are planned across the capital and across the country for Saturday, June 11, calling on lawmakers to pass gun control measures.

It comes in response to the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvdale on Tuesday that killed 19 children and two teachers, officials said.

It’s been four years since the first March for Our Lives drew huge crowds to the streets following the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida.

David Hogg, a gun control activist and founder of March for Our Lives who survived the 2018 shooting, this week urged lawmakers to do something to prevent further school violence.

“It’s time for Democrats, Republicans, gun owners and non-gun owners to come together and stop focusing on who we are [can’t] agree and start focusing on what we can do, even if it’s small,” he said on Twitter.

The protest is scheduled for noon at 901 New York Avenue NW, organizers say. More details about the protest are expected in the coming weeks.
