Mostly dry for Sunday with windy conditions | WDVM25 and DCW50

Good Saturday! An upper low that was over us today brought cloud cover and a few isolated showers. These isolated showers will continue in our area into the first half of the evening. Temperatures will begin to drop into our 30’s as we head into tonight. Snow showers will continue tonight along the Allegheny Front. Light winds come from the west. We start our Sunday with cloudy skies as a low is centered over New England. We start Sunday quite cloudy with a short shower late in the morning. On the other side of the Allegheny Front, snow showers can occur in the early hours of the morning before fading away by mid-morning. As we drive through the whole of Sunday we will see a cloudburst and the return of sunshine in the late afternoon. Sunday will be a windy day. Winds will begin to shift from the northwest, gusting about 30 miles per hour. High temperatures will be in the 50s to 60s and 40s in the mountains. Winds will ease Sunday evening but high clouds will gather as a distance heads into the Great Lakes. It’s going to be a chilly Sunday night, with lows well into the 30s for most.

A freeze/freeze may be issued. Warmer air will flow into our area on Monday as shortwave travels northeast through the Upper Great Lakes. This results in a southwesterly flow across the area. Clouds will continue to persist, with heights reaching into the 60’s and 70’s. We’ll see a warmer trend as we begin our work. As we move into Tuesday, a southerly front will descend through the region with the possibility of showers in the forecast. We’ll see the front move into Tuesday late Monday evening. On Wednesday, the front pauses near the area before moving north. There might also be enough increased instability for a few thunderstorms. If this low moves out of our area, the cold front behind it will start moving into our area on Thursday. This cold front will bring another chance for showers and maybe another thunderstorm. Wednesday and Thursday are the warmest days of the week. At the beginning of the weekend we will see a break in rain. The next chance that we might see rain will be Saturday.
