A two-year starter at Oregon State, Izzi Szulczewski contributes on both the offensive and defensive side of the pitch. The sophomore recorded Oregon State’s first triple-double in five years and was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week. Szulczewski amassed 22 digs with 12 assists and 11 kills for the triple-double and averaged 6.13 digs per set over the weekend, 1.13 more than any other Pac-12 player. She played both setters and outside hitters for the Beavs, participating in all six rotations and scoring double-digit digs overall in all three games.

In 2021, the Beavers ranked fourth in the Pac-12 with 14.20 digs per set, led by the then-senior Grace Massey (4.40d/set). Since Massey lost to graduation, OSU looked into it Ryan White (2.68d/set), Emma Villaluz (2.54 d/set) in the back row. Both players started at Libero this season and have played in every game. The Beavers currently rank second in the Pac-12 with nearly 15 digs per set.

More than a third of Oregon State’s roster came to Corvallis from outside the United States, including two of OSU’s five freshmen and transfer setters Inna Balyko. The Beavs are one of only four Pac-12 teams with multiple international student-athletes.
