Congress on Saturday apologized to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked him to “withdraw” his “clean slip” to China, which no one in Indian territory has entered, citing a Pentagon report claiming China is 4.5 km invaded Arunachal Pradesh.
Congress spokesman Pawan Khera said the Prime Minister would have to provide answers and deadlines as to when the status quo ante will apply to all of our borders with China, as in April 2020.
The request came after Congress quoted the Pentagon report.
Khera said the Chinese intrusion has now been confirmed by the Pentagon to the US Congress in its annual report. The villages on the other side of the border are of dual use, not only having civilian populations, but also serving as quarters for the Chinese army.
He said in June 2020 the BJP MP in Arunachal Pradesh Tapir Gao wrote to the prime minister and interior minister warning them of China’s transgressions into Indian territory.
Khera said the prime minister and interior minister denied the violations and it was 17 months since Modi gave China a “clean slip”.
“This clean chit is a dark chapter in our history because it has been used by China all over the world. China was encouraged by this clean chit, not only in Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh, but also in Uttarakhand, where the PLA invaded and destroyed our infrastructure, ”he told reporters.
“This is a very serious issue. The prime minister must withdraw his clean slip of paper to China and set a deadline and tell the nation when the status quo ante of April 2020 will be restored across all our borders with China, be it Depsang, Gogra Hot Springs, Daulat Beg Oldie or Arunachal Pradesh “, he said.
Khera said, “We need answers, we need deadlines, we need deadlines and we need an apology for misleading the world, that China has not entered our territory.” Indian and Chinese troops have been in Eastern Europe since April 2020 Ladakh in an eye-to-eye situation and even got into a bloody confrontation in which many soldiers were killed.
