President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. approves Montana’s disaster declaration

Today, President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. declared that the state of Montana was experiencing a major disaster and ordered federal assistance to supplement state, tribal and local recovery efforts in areas hit by a severe storm and flooding from June 10 were affected. 2022 and onwards.

State, tribal, eligible local governments and certain private non-profit organizations are receiving shared-cost federal funding for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe storm and flooding in Carbon, Park and Stillwater counties.

Federal funds are also available on a cost-sharing basis for state-wide security measures.

Deanne Criswell, Administrator, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Department of Homeland Security, appointed Maona N. Ngwira as Federal Coordinating Officer for Federal Recovery Operations in affected areas.

Additional designations may be made at a later date if required by the State and warranted by the results of further damage assessments.
