Q Does it make sense to attack the servers used for these ransom attacks in Russia?
THE PRESIDENT: To attack them?
F Well –
THE PRESIDENT: Well what happened was there was a company that – I mean, they weren’t specifically targeting servers; They attacked companies.
Q I mean the US answer. So far, the US response has been to apply sanctions – impose sanctions on Russia for this malicious activity. Does it make sense for the US to go one step further and attack the servers actually used?
THE PRESIDENT: Yes.
Q Sir, what are the consequences for Putin if he doesn’t crack down on cyberattacks?
THE PRESIDENT: Well, we have set up a committee – a joint committee. They meet on the 16th I think. And I think we’ll get some cooperation.
