A residence that appears to be quite lacking has people scratching their heads after it was listed on the Washington, DC real estate market for $499,000.
On paper, the 2,497-square-foot, four-bedroom, two-bathroom home in the Anacostia neighborhood seems like a decent buy. But combing through the photos, one notices something pretty important – the interior appears to have burn damage.
“Investor alert!” the listing on Zillow.com says. “Great rehab opportunity in the Hot Anacostia neighborhood. The house has an in-laws suite, a block from the subway, a large garden, a great location. Value of similar homes up to $899,000. Come and see while you can!”
The house and its expenses caught the attention of #FridayNightZillow, a fun Twitter segment hosted by a Bloomberg reporter Steven Dennis.
“yikes”, one person said simply.
“That would be a fool renovation project…great potential to be a beautiful home again,” tweeted another.
“Vintage starter home…” someone said.
“And that’s still the case over my budget‘ remarked one person.
“Love them skylight!” another tweeted.
“Pretty sure someone just took graphics from one of the houses in ‘The Last of Us’ and made a Zillow list,” one joked.”
